What keeps me here...

What I love about being in Maine and a part of this community is getting to work on projects like this.

I recently helped on a few shoots this past year interviewing teacher's who benefitted from the Maine Environmental Education Association grants that support outdoor learning in Maine. 

These are people in our community like my friend Kate Strait - my surf buddy! - and science teacher at Baxter Academy in Portland Maine. She relies on these grants to do things like make an ocean drifter with her students to learn about ocean currents. And also get students out onto the waters of Casco Bay!

And Natasha, an elementary school teacher at Presumscott Elementary, who used the grant to help create signage for her outdoor garden with the kids.

Not only was the final video beautiful and moving, but one anonymous funder gave an extra $25,000 for the grant program after watching the video! That's real impact.

It's always gratifying when the work I do is having real impact in the community I love.
