Nonprofit Video Production in Maine: A Fundraising Film for Niweskok

As a Maine videographer, I love working with local organizations and communities who need video work. This fall, I was approached about making a fundraising video for Niweskok - a Wabanaki led organization rematriating coastal Penobscot Bay.

They recently led a major Land Back project in Swanville, securing over 245 acres where they're developing a Wabanaki farm and education center. Their mission is to reclaim traditional food and medicines to reconnect with ancestral practices and steward the land through agroforestry, integrated food systems, and ecological regeneration.

But this ambitious vision takes a lot of work, and a critical part of rematriation is having places to dream, slow down, and experience that other things are possible.

So they are asking for your support in building a community sauna!

This will be a place of rest, renewal, and dreaming with the land. Your donation will create a place for them to rest and reconnect as they continue to develop the farm and education center.

I feel fortunate to use video storytelling to help bring attention to meaningful community-led projects like this one. A good fundraising film does more than explain what an organization does; it helps people connect with the vision and understand how they can be part of making it possible.
